Review of new 'The Website is Down,' and what is... →
My latest Tubefilter article (and today’s top featured story), about one of my favorite shows, ‘The Website is Down.’ Creator Josh Weinberg was also kind enough to send me a copy of MILF308, the fake-popup software he’s selling for $1, after reading my review… SO excited to bust it out when I’m not using my computer in a small classroom.

Open Letter Against the Special Olympics 'R-Word'...
As CNN informed me today, the Special Olympics has launched a campaign at “r-word.org” for people to pledge to stop using the word ‘retard.’ Now, I’ll ignore the fact that the site gives no page to even attempt to educate someone such as myself, who finds no problem using the word ‘retard’ in the proper context, instead preaching to the choir of people...

One of my favorite Fmylife entries recently →
Today, a girl-scout asked me to buy cookies, in front of Giant. She looked nice, so I bought 5 boxes from her. She took the money and went home with her mom. I opened the boxes when I got home and realized that the boxes just had rocks in them. I got scammed by a girl-scout. FML

Strange Fact Of The Day
I was reading the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, because I’m a huge dork like that, and I found some really interesting stories about the document upon which our country is based: What we call the ‘Bill of Rights’ is known to refer to the first 10 amendments to the Constitution. We talk about the First Amendment as being: “Congress shall make no law respecting an...

Seth MacFarlane Rocks My World
“I still kick myself for missing that topless cheerleader parade with the hundred foot tall chocolate teddy bear and the F-16’s doing aerial acrobatics choreographed to the music of Queen.” - Stewie Griffin

Shoe Throwing Journalist Sentenced
Can you believe this? They sentenced Muntadher al-Zaid, the guy who threw his shoes at President Bush, 3 years in prison. In terms of appropriate sentencing I might have said that maybe 6 months would have been appropriate, but 3 years isn’t just unfair, it’s politically stupid as well.

In Today's Top Stories...
You know, there’s nothing like a manhunt that leaves you locked out of your neighborhood for 4 hours to give a little perspective. So let’s tell a little story… We start yesterday, at 8:15pm. I ordered a pizza from Papa John’s for takeout (large 1-topping pizza for less than $10, pretty solid deal), and while I waited for my food to be prepared, I watched some TV on my...

Breaking News: F*** My Life
I left my apartment at 8:30pm to pick up a pizza I ordered, and went through 4 roadblocks, after which I was told I couldn’t return for at least two hours. There are helicopters and cops EVERYWHERE. So now I’m stuck at a friend’s place across the residential area of USC because, as the Daily Trojan says (they’re the only news source with this story): Officer-involved...

tanya77: thearjun: Can a Web Show (a show released primarily for distribution and viewing on the internet) derive more interesting material, whether comedic or dramatic, from interesting characters and monologue driven scripts than old formats- television, movies, etc, which I postulate are more story driven? No. Unless you are a Performance Art genius like Eric Bogosian or Ann Magnuson. You...

Technosis
From Stress Management for Life by Michael Olpin and Margie Hesson. “‘People allow themselves to be sucked into this technological abyss, and in doing so they become more machine-oriented and less sensitive to their own needs and the needs of others. Some people become so immersed in technology that they risk losing their own identity, a condition called technosis.’ [Weil &...

My Weird Obsession with Ryugyong Hotel
Here’s a little cool fact / social studies lesson for the day. One of my dreams is to visit Pyongyang, North Korea one day. My roommate’s sister got to go through a program aimed to help foster diplomacy through the two countries, and she brought back some really interesting stories, as well as some propaganda materials similar to the ones used in North Korean schools. Probably the...

Los Angeles: Top 10 Pizza Joints →
a12thway2reachme: hydeordie: I need to hold onto this list for later. You understand. (via bbook) You should probably tack on The Arb Pizza Cafe (NY Pizza in Studio City) and Two Boots (another NY one) in Echo Park.  And I’ve gotta say, as convenient as Domiano’s is … I don’t think it’s very good and it is often sort of soggy. Couple more place’s that should be on here:...

Peer Pressure 2.0
So here I am, trying out tumblr. Even though I fall squarely into the Web 2.0 generation, there’s an interesting divide; while Twittering your every thought and action seems like the domain of the youth, I only have 4 or 5 Twitter friends my age. Now here I am on tumblr, which seems like something my generation would do, but again, it seems to be dominated by people who are not, like me, in...
